LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING

After watching Tia and Tamera’s show and hearing the girls discussing comments made about Cree’s looks (Tia’s son), I just had to write about it.

After Tia posted photos of her baby Cree online, the proud mom was shocked to see that people had commented that her baby is ugly. As expected the young mom was gutted at how cruel people can be. I honestly wish we didn’t live in such a superficial world whereby your looks are more important than anything else. Even though a face is what we see first, commenting about how one looks is definitely a low blow. Intelligence, resilience, honesty and love absolutely have nothing to do with what the outside looks like. As much as these were just opinions there was no need to write that.
It seems though that our society is all about looks. Even a study released in 2011 revealed that most of the time people who are attractive get paid more or are a tad bit more successful. Not sure how true this is and on how many people took part in the experiment.

Professor Christian Pfeifer, Leuphana University of Lüneburg who conducted the research said : 'It remains unclear exactly how attractiveness often equates to higher pay and higher-flying career, but I suspect the first impression a person makes could be crucial'. 'We know that good looking people are often more self assured, which could help in boosting their productivity’. This could be attributed to self confidence and not exactly looks, the brains are what’s put to the test in an interview right?
Children tease each other about everything and it’s our duty to teach them right from wrong. If our society is so stuck on looks then what kind of generation will we be producing. Everyone is unique and beautifully made; the way God intended for us to be. What is more important is how you treat others and how you contribute to your world and other people’s lives.

Anyway here are a few pictures of not so great looking babies who turned out to be great people.
