Great Easter Festivities& Fun: Games you can enjoy

Family get togethers always happen around the holiday times. I for one actually enjoy lazing and doing absolutely nothing but usually its either visiting family or family visiting us. Either way you are bound to get busy, either washing the dishes or cooking something for all to enjoy. There is also the predicament of keeping the kiddies busy while the adults get cracking; playing outside only lasts so long till someone comes crying about something.
The best way to keep them safe and entertained for a long while is by creating games to play in the garden. Some of the games are actually old classics which I, my mom and her mom before her enjoyed. I must say it is easier to entertain a group of kids than just one kid. I’d find her something to keep busy with and soon I’m joining in sometimes to my reluctance due to chores or cooking. Even if she watches a movie on her own; it will be mommy this-mommy that, come see Shrek, why this why that, to my dismay. Any
way I have accepted that saltderhe enjoys playing together and certainly not alone.
Here are some fun things to do during Easter holidays

1.       Hide and Seek(except you hide Easter eggs in different place n whoever finds them can keep them)
2.       U play hop scotch with a bit of general knowledge in there e.g  reside fruits, veggies, cars, colors etc
3.       Tug of War: Two teams pulling each side of the rope the winning team gets to eat their Easter eggs first.
4.       Flying Ball: You throw the ball in the air and call someone’s name while doing it and they have to catch it before it hits the ground, they do the same till some-one drops it and they have to get some type of punishment(not severe)
5.       Easterthon: They start by collecting sticks laid out for them, then get as many apples  from the water bucket into another empty bucket using only their mouths. Then they have to carry an egg in spoon to the last challenge whereby they have to wear a sack and run to the finish line, first one to complete the challenge or gets furthest wins.
6.       Lastly the easiest classic game: Tag. Most kids love this; I guess it tickles them because they laugh so much while trying to run from their opponent.
Most if these games are fun and can be done with adults if they are not for you then board games are also fun e.g snakes n ladders, monopoly, chess and twister.

HAPPI EASTER-dont forget to buy eggs n edible paint n have fun with the kiddies.

LOOSENING THE LEASH ON YOUR KIDS

I believe I’m one of those over protective mothers who need to know where her child is, when and why. I know I’m a bit extreme but at least I don’t put a leash around her waist or neck when shopping or talking a walk. Anyway I think it’s because for one: it’s a scary world out there, two: she is not ready for the streets and lastly I am not ready.  We spent a great deal of time together so I feel very much attached to her.

Needless to say this is a common issue especially for new mothers who have taken their kids wherever they go even to dates, no I’m kidding. Some experts state that we are robbing them of their childhood, really. The world just isn’t the same anymore so it’s not easy to loosen the leash or better yet cut the cord. For now though I am happy if she is playing nearby where my eyes can see her. She sometimes gives me reason to worry; always smiling and greeting strangers. The concept of “Stranger Danger” is quite ridiculous to her, she sees all people as good.
TIPS TO REDUCE OVERPROTECTIVENESS
Invite friends over and let them play in your yard for hours and next time they can do so at a friend’s.
Go to the park n see how your kids interact without interfering or ask another adult
Teach them and coach them basic on how to handle crisis’ e.g how to dial the emergency number, not get run over and about strangers.
There is only so much we can do the rest is up to them. I’m definitely going to use my own advice three or maybe four years from now when she knows better lol.

CELEBRITY KIDS: FASHION FUNDIS

As a mom you will definitely notice the most adorable fashion that babies wear. Celebrity babies are the epitome of little fashion. With access to different stores and designers there is no excuse for an unfashionable looking baby amongst our celebs.
Children’s designs are absolutely adorable and I actually find them more appealing than our typical adult clothing. My baby gal is also a little fashionista or so I would like to think, just the other day she pointed at a tutu dress which I found to be a bit too much. I therefore had to decline so for now, I call the shots lol.
HERE ARE SOME CLELEBRITY KIDS WHO DEFINITELY KNOW FASHION
Suri cruise is such a little lady. She has a shoe collection that’s worth more than 1.2 million. There is also a blog in her name.

Then there is Angelina Jolie’s Zahara. She and sister Shiloh have very different style. It seems Angelina’s daughters decide what to wear themselves. Zahara is the little lady while Shiloh is more of a tomboy.

Harlow Maden is another cutie who always looks smashing. Not surprising though since Nicole always looks hot and since Harlow is her new accessory she must look the part too.

Kingston Stefani is definitely fashion conscious, he certainly does not conform to the usual character T’s and pants little boys his age wear. Even his hair says something about his personality.

Lastly Victoria Beckham’s little angel Harper; this little girl definitely had to make the list. Her parents have a standard they uphold, not forgetting their public reputation of splurging.

But of course all kiddies are cute and what ever you dress them in, they will pull your heartstrings.
That does not stop those cutest baby competitions from continuing though*side eyes*.

Which other celebrity kid do you think is a fashionista baby?
Have you seen some of their clothes in a store or your child(ren) has something similar?

Shocking News: Mom tries to kill her baby

In the news:
A teen mom by the name of Adeola Joseph has tried to kill her toddler three times in a row without much success. The 18 year old from Nigeria has been sentenced to six years imprisonment for this. It was established that the she is medically fit and knew exactly what she was doing.
The chief magistrate said “The convict is callous and may not change from her devilish act as she did not show any remorse. She may do worse if given the opportunity to continue to live amongst human beings. She needs to learn how to live among human beings and not animals”.
When confronted about her actions the young mom did not seem regretful but felt like the baby was a hindrance to her success in life. The first attempt she made on the baby’s life was last year when she gave her poisoned food, a month later she dumped the baby by the river bank where good Samaritans rescued and returned the baby to her and the last attempt was when she buried her alive. The baby miraculously survived all of these incidents. The baby was buried alive for two days till a neighbor led by a prophetess found and rescued her. She fainted after she was rescued but only stayed in hospital for 3 days.
Clearly God has a big purpose for this child, she is very special. Having gone through all she has and being just as healthy as she was born.

In other news a man also buried his new born alive but the baby was rescued.
What has the world come to, many people yearn for a baby.We need deliverance

NEW BABY STUDY: BABIES ARE MEANIES AND BIASED

-->
I love reading up on new baby studies as I find them both humorous and informative.
This week a new study was released which showed that babies are biased too.

Professor Kiley Hamlin of British –Colombia University studied nine and 14 month old babies at Yale University while he was a student there.
In the study he gave the children a choice between graham crackers and green beans to establish a preference. The babies where then showed a puppet show where one puppet selects a graham cracker and the other chose the green beans. In the show the puppet that picked the same food as them dropped a ball and the other puppet either returned the ball or stole it from them. The babies preferred the puppets that were nice and helpful to the puppet that chose the same food as they did in the first puppet show.
The babies were shown another show where the puppet who drops the ball is the one who picked the opposite food as the babies, they showed a preference for the puppet that was mean to the puppet that chose a different snack to them. Almost every baby in the study showed a clear preference for the puppet that was mean to the puppet that liked the other food.

The study concludes that babies prefer those who are like them and agree with picking on those who are different.

Has your child acted mean or surprising to you?
