BABIES ABANDONED EVEN ON THE BEACH IN HAWAII

Short notes on: The appointment and function of the executor in deceased estates -->
Every day in South Africa at least 3 children are abandoned. Despite efforts made by Samaritans to help, women still opt to leave babies in unsafe places. Places like the Door Of Hope in Berea was specifically created to ensure that mothers can leave their babies anonymously and know they will be well cared for. Unlike throwing them in garbage bins, rivers, toilets, plastic bags, whereby in some cases they are found dead or dehydrated. We could go on all day about why anyone would abandon their babies but the truth of the matter is we have no idea what truly goes on in their minds or their lives. I will say though that adoption is a much better option than leaving a baby out in the cold.
A baby is placed inside box on the wall

Recently a baby was abandoned on the beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. I guess someone thought to leave the holiday guests with a little surprise.Sigh, the door of hope needs to be created all over the world everywhere so people will never have excuses or feel the need to dump their baby anywhere.
In the middle of the night, a woman who lives near the beach heard several people screaming then after a while she heard baby screams. When she went over to investigate she found the newly born baby with no one around.

The police are still investigating who the mom could be and her apparent “accomplices”, it is likely the baby will be put up for adoption. The Hawaiian laws are less strict than in other countries but there is still a high rate of babies being left in dangerous places.
The law there states that it is acceptable for women to give up their kids at places of safety such as fire stations, churches or hospitals.

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING

After watching Tia and Tamera’s show and hearing the girls discussing comments made about Cree’s looks (Tia’s son), I just had to write about it.

After Tia posted photos of her baby Cree online, the proud mom was shocked to see that people had commented that her baby is ugly. As expected the young mom was gutted at how cruel people can be. I honestly wish we didn’t live in such a superficial world whereby your looks are more important than anything else. Even though a face is what we see first, commenting about how one looks is definitely a low blow. Intelligence, resilience, honesty and love absolutely have nothing to do with what the outside looks like. As much as these were just opinions there was no need to write that.
It seems though that our society is all about looks. Even a study released in 2011 revealed that most of the time people who are attractive get paid more or are a tad bit more successful. Not sure how true this is and on how many people took part in the experiment.

Professor Christian Pfeifer, Leuphana University of Lüneburg who conducted the research said : 'It remains unclear exactly how attractiveness often equates to higher pay and higher-flying career, but I suspect the first impression a person makes could be crucial'. 'We know that good looking people are often more self assured, which could help in boosting their productivity’. This could be attributed to self confidence and not exactly looks, the brains are what’s put to the test in an interview right?
Children tease each other about everything and it’s our duty to teach them right from wrong. If our society is so stuck on looks then what kind of generation will we be producing. Everyone is unique and beautifully made; the way God intended for us to be. What is more important is how you treat others and how you contribute to your world and other people’s lives.

Anyway here are a few pictures of not so great looking babies who turned out to be great people.

BABIES NEED TO BE HELD WHEN IN DISTRESS

A new study has revealed that walking while holding your baby is a much more effective way of calming them down than rocking. This was discovered by a group of researchers after they conducted the study to find out the best way to calm a baby down. What was found was that when hysterical babies who were held and walked around with became calmer, their rapidly beating hearts would slow down due to this. I used to think just holding a baby in your arms would be soothing but it’s the walking that is crucial in this case. What is more fascinating is that the same response was also found in rats, not sure how the experiment was conducted though.

The study was conducted by Dr. Kumi Kuroda, and a group of researchers. The investigation took place at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute in Saitama, Japan. For the research 12 healthy infants ages 1 month to 6 months were monitored. Young babies carried by a walking mother were the most relaxed and soothed, compared to infants whose mothers sat in a chair and held them. As a mother stood up and started to walk with her child cradled close in her arms, scientists observed an automatic change in the baby's behavior.
This however does not mean we should neglect to try n figure out why the baby is crying first. You should make sure that the baby is not hungry, in pain or needs a nappy change etc. I guess this means those who believe so much in the cry it out technique can now stop using it, babies want to be held. So instead of leaving him/her to cry till they can’t anymore, carrying them and walking around could be the quicker solution.

Come to thiink of it this is also kind of the same with piggy-backing a baby with a towel of course, it helps them calm down most of the time. Mommies sometimes its best to hold your baby while walking in a mall or wherever even just for a while, they will be forever thankful lol.

BABY MORPHS TAKE OVER CELEBVILLE

It seems the impending birth of the royal baby has made everyone all over the world poke their noses which I can assume is quite annoying to the parents to be.They seem to be private people.
People have been speculating about the gender of the baby then the suitable names and now they have come up with morphs of what the royal kid might look like.

The morphs I believe are just a way to appease the public but really only nature and God will decide how this baby will turn out. I have seen from personal experience that how a baby will turn is not as predictable. My baby looks more like her father's side of the family.
She hardly looks like me maybe she has my nose, eyes or forehead. My point is a baby can even look like someone else in the family there is no way of knowing until the baby is born.

These baby morphs have been doing the rounds in Celebville especially when the mothers are expecting or even just when celebs hook up. They had to make a baby morph of Beyonce and Jay-Zee and of course the morph looks nothing like Blue Ivy. Blue Ivy is such a cute little girl with some of her mom's features and some of her dad's. The morph is a good attempt I guess but an obvious fail.
Anyway who cares what the royal baby looks like as long as it does not take after Uncle Harry who is just a bit of a free spirit really.

Here are more celeb/baby morphs doing the rounds in Celebville.

STUDY REVEALS DRINKING LIGHLTY IS NOT HARMFUL TO THE BABY

For years women have been told not to drink during pregnancy at all. Even though some ignored this, it was one of the things Doctors would drill into your head during pregnancy. “If you don’t want a deformed baby, don’t drink” they said. Now a study has revealed that light drinking is okay. I know there is some truth to this as I have seen women who drank lightly and others who drank moderately with pretty normal kids. The babies on the hit TLC show “I didn’t know I was pregnant” seem healthy after birth even though the mothers drank as normal because they had no idea there was a baby on board.

It’s apparent that up to two units of alcohol is ok for baby. This will not decrease adverse cognitive behavior or abilities the researchers say.
Researchers tracked 10534 seven-year-olds in the U.K, conducted interviews and questionnaires with the parents and teachers to identify abnormal social and emotional behavior or conduct problems. The researchers also quizzed the kids in mathematics, reading and spatial skills. Then they compared the results of children born to mothers who were light drinkers and those who abstained from alcohol during pregnancy. Researchers could not find differences between the abilities of the two groups of seven-year-olds. In fact when looking at boys born to light drinkers, researchers found them to have slightly fewer reported behavioral problems and higher reading and spatial skills.
Before some of you start celebrating yet, they caution that their research is still a work in progress since the children could exhibit adverse effects later in life. Even though they published this more research needs to be done in order to be 100% factual.

John Thorp, the journal’s Deputy-Editor-in-Chief said in a statement:”It remains unclear as to what level of alcohol consumption may have adverse outcomes so this should not alter current advice and if women are worried about consumption levels the safest option would be to abstain from drinking during pregnancy.

MOMS LOSE THEIR COOL

-->

Acting crazy in public is something that never goes unnoticed; there is always someone ready to record the action. People get confrontational all the time but you better think twice before you do it in public. Then again maybe people do not even care or like the idea of having an audience or “instigators”, hell they even go on TV  so they can beat each other up  in front of a cheering audience e.g.The Jerry Springer Show
Its one thing to lose your temper in a public place but doing it in front of your child is another thing. There is a circulated video of a mom who gets into a fight with some woman on a bus while she is holding her baby; the video was taken by another passenger.

In the video she screams swear words while holding the baby. Next thing she literally throws the baby at some other passenger she does not even know and charges at the other woman, who was also swearing. In the video she is heard saying don’t disrespect me in front of my kid. Clearly she is the one who is disrespecting her own child by exposing her to such violent behavior. As she was beating the woman her baby covers her ears in horror
.
While the audio is not clear, it appears that the two women are arguing over a relationship a relative of the mother had with the other woman's boyfriend. In the audio she says as she tosses the baby:

'Someone grab my baby! I'm going beat the s*** out of you on this bus little girl. This b**** has disrespected me in front of my baby, man. I'll hit that b****.
The other passengers asked her to calm down but to no avail, even the bus driver announces over the speaker: 'Shut the f*** up. lol

In other news a mom blew a lid when she heard that her 12 yr old daughter was almost raped by a 16 year old boy from the neighborhood.
She then decided to arm her 11 year old son with two butcher knives and formed a mob of 6 people armed with weapons to assault or maybe to even kill the boy. They entered his home, found his father and two brothers then they started acting all outrageous swinging their knives.

Later on a charge of assault were opened against the mom honey love (That’s her name), her son and the mob. The 16 year old boy is also facing attempted rape charges. Honey had to go and take matters into her hands, now she is in trouble with the law.
Although it’s hard to keep your cool when some boy wants to rape you child however killing him will land you in trouble.

PREMATURE BABIES DIE AFTER A STUDY

-->

There is nothing more painful than losing a child, even worse when it could have been prevented. These were my thoughts after I read about a group of researchers who did a study on premature babies and some of the babies ended up dead. Like I said before I enjoying reading research studies as they are sometimes able to uncover fascinating info but not when animals or human beings have to be harmed in the process.
This study in which the preemies died was led by the University of Alabama at Birmingham. It focused on how much oxygen “extremely preterm” babies should be given following their deliveries.

The researchers wanted to determine how much oxygen minimized the chances of blindness without increasing the risks of other problems including death or brain damage.
When asked to enroll in the study the parents were not told about the extreme risks and this was also not included in the consent form they had to sign. So you can imagine the shock when their precious babies died. Of the 654 babies receiving low levels of oxygen, 130 died, as did 107 of the 662 babies who were given high oxygen levels.

Human Research Protection was notified and it then sent a letter to the University of Alabama stating that the university should  take steps to ensure consent forms in future studies outline all the risks. Not that it makes much of a difference to the parents, the damage is done.
In trying to salvage the matter, University's Vice President for research Richard Marchase said in a statement: “although slightly more babies who received lower-dose oxygen in the study died, those death rates still were lower than was usual for premature babies getting standard care at the time, but we will ensure that any future consent form clearly delineates risks to all arms of a study as completely as possible, including studies in which all arms are operating within the accepted standard of clinical care".

It seems like Mr Marchase is not very sympathetic. There is nothing to justify the loss of a precious life. Hopefully the parents of those babies will heal and be able to move on form this nightmare.
