WHEN PARENTING HAPPENS TO BAD PEOPLE: CHILD ABUSE

Any sort of violence against children is unacceptable. There is spanking and then there is just plain straight out abuse.

A Melbourne mother has been reported to have bashed her toddler nearly to death. This after the little girl vomited in her bed, but she does admit she never loved the poor baby. She calls me mum but I just don't feel nothing," she said in an interview. The girl (2) was beaten so badly that she is now disabled. She was thrown against a wall, punched and kicked repeatedly. When questioned, the mother told the police that the child had fallen off a trampoline but later admitted she “lost it”. It’s unbelievable that she could beat the child to a pulp without ever stopping to think. The incidence occurred in November 2011 and now she will spend at least five years in jail and her 36 year old husband will spend a year in jail and the other two years suspended.
After beating the child she and her husband denied the baby medical attention in fear of being exposed. The father says he was persuaded by his partner, talk about bad parenting. She was finally taken to the doctor after three days. A lot of damage was done to the poor baby, she will never be able to walk, see or hear normally again. This little girl will never be able to do a lot of things kids her age take for granted such as riding a bike. The mother plead guilty to intentionally hurting her and also reckless endangerment by not seeking medical attention soon.
Judge Millane said the woman, who had four unplanned pregnancies by the age of 25, was struggling with her family responsibilities and felt disconnected from the girl, who became the target of her anger and resentment.
The girl is now in foster care and none of the family members requested to be in-contact with her. I definitely think the less she sees of them the better, she is better off. These two take bad parenting to the next level.

Child abuse occurs in many different ways, we just need to stop turning a blind eye.
